On the opening morning of the final UN OEWG session on ICT security, EU Cyber Direct – EU Cyber Diplomacy Initiative hosted an informal breakfast meeting at the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations on 7 July 2025 in New York, USA.
Bringing together a diverse group of non-governmental stakeholders, including civil society, academia, the private sector, and the technical community, the event provided a space for informal exchange, coordination, and strategic reflection.
Participants discussed anticipated negotiation dynamics, shared insights on the OEWG’s legacy, and explored ways to remain engaged and impactful in the post-OEWG landscape. The session reinforced the importance of cross-sector collaboration and sustained multistakeholder engagement in shaping the future of international cyber stability.
