François Delerue, team leader on International Law and project expert for EU Cyber Direct, has been awarded the ESIL 2021 Book Prize by the European Society of International Law.
The book, Cyber Operations and International Law, provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the international law applicable to cyber operations, highlights the limits of international law in governing the cyber realm, and discusses the new cyber-enabled possibilities that are afforded to states wishing to intervene in both the internal and the external affairs of other states.
As academic rapporteur for international law in the first phase of the EU Cyber Direct project, François Delerue has previously written about the application and interpretation of international law in cyberspace, such as in the piece "International law in cyberspace matters: this is how and why".
