On the margins of the OSCE Informal Working Group (IWG), EU Cyber Direct – EU Cyber Diplomacy Initiative convened an interregional luncheon on “Confidence-building for critical infrastructure protection” in Vienna on 1 June 2026.
The luncheon brought together representatives from regional organisations to exchange perspectives on the practical implementation of cyber confidence-building measures (CBMs), with a particular focus on critical infrastructure protection and opportunities for strengthening interregional cooperation.
The event emphasised how the regional level offers significant added value and opportunities for cybersecurity: trust is built more easily in a smaller setting with a shared context. Global cyber stability is built on strong regional foundations.
