Let’s Talk Cyber: Informal Multi-stakeholder Cyber Dialogue

 In

The EU Cyber Direct Project and the EU Institute for Security Studies were actively involved in the consortium of organisations and states that have initiated the Informal Multi-stakeholder Cyber Dialogue series #LetsTalkCyber. The objective of the virtual dialogue series is to support the ongoing discussions at the UN Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) on developments in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) in the context of international security.

As a platform for dialogue between non-government organizations (NGOs), technical experts, civil society, the private sector and states, this series of thematic sessions aimed to collect non-governmental stakeholder perspectives on the UN Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) pre-draft, and create opportunities for in-depth dialogue between states and NGO communities on the themes of the OEWG.

During the sessions, panelists and the virtual audience exchanged views on numerous topical issues in cyberspace, such as: the OEWG multi-stakeholder discussions, confidence-building measures, regular institutional dialogue, gender issues, cyber capacity building, existing and emerging threats, international law, and rules, norms and principles.
