European Parliament and the Council of the European Union
Regulation (EU) 2019/881 represents the regulatory framework for ENISA (the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity) and on information and communications technology cyber security certification. Regulation 2019/881 repeals Regulation (EU) No 526/2013 (Cybersecurity Act).
This Regulation foresees a permanent mandate for the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) and the creation of an EU certification framework for ICT products and services.
On 8 June 2018, the Council agreed on the Commission’s proposals. After five trilogies, an agreement with the Parliament was reached. The President of the European Parliament and of the Council signed the regulation on 17 April 2019.
